Hello! I'm Mrs Bridges, a child-focussed private tutor with more than 20 years teaching experience.
I specialise in 11+ entrance exam preparation and maths tuition of all levels. I can also teach English and Science up to GCSE, as well as functional skills and fundamental Maths and English skills for teachers and adults. I teach both online and in person, either from my Christchurch-based classroom or within your home. My primary aim is to help my students achieve their full potential and experience success.
I have helped more than 300 students pass the 11+ to attend Bournemouth School, Bournemouth School for Girls, Parkstone Grammar, Poole Grammar and Reigate Grammar. I have worked with some families for more than 10 years, helping each child during different stages of their education.
I have also worked with prospective teachers to help them attain the required standard of Maths and English to progress in teacher training.

Mrs. Bridges is an excellent tutor. She provides a great mix of listening, speaking and practical learning activities in a safe, supportive learning environment. She is patient and supportive but knows how to motivate her children. She is great at building confidence and keeping lessons fun and engaging with a variety of activities that improve conversation, writing, and reading skills. My son, who is now in Year 8, has been tutored by Mrs Bridges over the last couple of years. Last year, he passed the entrance exam at the Grammar School. Having struggled with Maths at school I was unable to gain a pass in GCSE Maths. In order to pass my apprenticeship in painting and decorating I was required to obtain Maths Functional Skills Level 2. I tried several times to pass this on my own without success so I knew I needed help. I booked some lessons with Isabel and my knowledge and confidence greatly improved. I passed my exam and was able to complete my apprenticeship. I would highly recommend her.
